ENERGY POLICY:

I believe it is a national security, economic and environmental imperative that we reduce our dependence on foreign oil and carbon fuels. We must reduce energy consumption by capitalizing on energy efficiency opportunities for consumers and businesses.

I support taking immediate steps to increase production of homegrown, renewable energy alternatives such as bio-fuels and wind. Also, we need to invest in research and development for advanced, long-term energy solutions. The development of these technologies and their supporting infrastructures will create thousands of quality jobs, including many here in Iowa, while also fighting pollution and increasing our country’s energy independence.
